Law Enforcement

I support law-enforcement at all levels from the local, county, state, federal. I used to oversee the safety of federal law enforcement officers in the department of interior, national Park service, Bureau of land management and in that arena there was not enough law-enforcement to serve the public adequately. Conversely, as I have experienced with and worked with law-enforcement during emergency management events as an incident commander or the agency emergency manager in charge, it was also apparent than that the county and state law-enforcement were understaffed and overworked. There’s a huge gap here and what I foresee is a re-organization and increase in law-enforcement which is needed. There would be less pressure put on our courts if we had more law-enforcement to handle things at lower levels, but if everyone’s working at the lower level and you have a captain that overseas too many people then you lose the scope of operational control. I would also advocate rural areas to establish a constable to be the go-between between main dispatching and law-enforcement availability.
